Food Politics

www.FactoryFarm.org – This group aims to stop factory farms and encourage sustainable food production systems. It suggests ways to oppose large farms and provides a state-by-state listing of relevant issues and contacts. Includes information of meat, poultry and fish farms. Did you know, for example, that only 10 companies control 90 percent of the U.S. poultry production. It is my sincere wish that any eggs or chicken you might consume does not come from one of these companies.

www.foodfirst.org – Excellent site on hunger, food policy and development with an emphasis on sustainable agriculture. This page has a nifty “take action” feature that enables, with one click, to open a window, and print out a letter of opposition on a specific issue.
